The Why
We have rescued dogs for over 35+ years as a family. We usually had 2 to 3 dogs at a time but then the heart strings tugged. As the sweet babies passed over the rainbow road, we worked with local rescues/shelters to help dogs. There are so many unwanted and abandoned dogs but we can’t rescue them all. Above are the ones we have – all with a unique story. Each one comes with their own personality and issues. Somehow they form a cohesive pack and get along with each other. After years of rescuing, we finally created an official 501c3 non-profit sanctuary to give these and future dogs a second chance at life and a place to stay furever.
The Benefits
There are many benefits to the adoption of rescued dogs. The number one benefit is LIFE. Not only are we saving the life of one dog but we are saving the life of another by creating more space in the shelters. How about an UNCONDITIONAL BONDED LOVE? These pups know that they have been given a second chance at life and there is a bond of love created between us and them. Other benefits are EXERCISE and LAUGHTER. Not only do we get exercise, but they make us laugh with their antics.
The Goal
The goal of this 501c3 non-profit sanctuary is to not only provide a safe haven for the existing adopted rescues but to also bring awareness to the community about rescue dogs. There are thousands of dogs being euthanized weekly all over the world (especially the pitty breeds). This breaks our hearts. It is our hope that more people will look to the shelters, rescues, etc. to find their new forever pet instead of buying designer dogs.
In the future, we will be asking for volunteers to come work with/play with the dogs. This will open up an opportunity for the folks to learn about the importance of rescues.
